Get Buff Nails

Prep your nails by buffing! You cannot use an emmery board to buff!! Buffers have a finer grain that is kinder on the nail. Working side to side across the width of the nail, it enables you to remove ridges, file, buff and polish.
I have found this routine particularly helpful in strengthening my nails. For example my nails would split on the tips. The buffer helped smooth the nail between the split and not split part of the nail, making it totally flush and less susceptible to splitting over and over in the same place.
Continual buffing then treats/cares for the nail as it grows. The nail is less vunerable emerging from the nail bed, so by the time it gets to the tip it will have become nice and strong! I would recommend rocking some short, stumpy nails if your nails are in bad shape, keep working on them and eventually you can grow out a lovely, shiny, strong nail.
If polish is your thang buffing is one step closer to getting a perfect finish when you have painted your nails. The proof is in the pudding. The nail takes the polish a lot more evenly and also cleans up nicer when removed! Its worth trying just for the latter reason right?
There are all sorts of buffers out there from 4 for £1 (no prizes for guessing where from) upwards, some in kits with creams and lotions for added benefits but to be honest my favourite is from Wilkinsons for £1 (link below for Wilko online.)
Lastly an added benefit to buffing is the glossy look without the polish. So for all of you in professions that dont allow polish in the workplace this is a great way to feel pampered and manicured without breaking the rules!

Price Points

So here it is, my first blog. Where better to start than with the polish itself? I love nothing more than being Boots and gazing in wonder at the colossal amount of nail polish... (I MUST HAVE ALL OF THE POLISHES!!! ahem...) Picking a couple, and getting them home and introducing them to my collection. But on the other hand I am a fiend for a bargain and why buy one polish when you can buy 4?
I wondered how many of my fellow nail polishers, are aware that the likes of Revlon, China Glaze, NYC, Sally Hansen and Rimmel are available in the UK in Poundland and Poundworld stores! I have really rekindled my love of painting my nails in the past year and I am sure has been helped by the fact that I can buy these amazing polishes at an unbelievable price! Certainly after buying over 70 polishes during this time (This is another issue that I will be covering at some point!!) I have wondered how much this hobby might have cost me had I not discovered this. There is nothing wrong with treating ourselves but get yourselves a bargain and expand your palette.
